A couple of years ago, I ran into a house cleaner and we had a very brief, yet very interesting conversation about how she wowed her clients and why she was getting more work than she could handle because of her clients referral’s.
Well, I decided to try out this neat little tactic – to my surprise,
I started getting more phone calls for quotes and new business. When I asked my new clients how they heard about me, the clients would say something like:
my friend Mrs. Brown said you were the most conscientious contractor she had ever run into and she was impressed with the fact that you respected her home by wearing little surgical booties over your shoes!
That’s it – those little booties made such an impression on my clients when I arrived to do a quote or perform a service they just HAD to tell their friends and family about me.
Its unusual today for contractors to care so much when entering a new customer’s home for the 1st time.
The booties are very inexpensive.
I wear those booties even if the house looks like a garbage pit.
I also wear them while on the job until they rip – then I throw them away and usually I’m finished for the day anyway.
So this little trick is like that popular old saying on steroids!
